I had some werid dreams just before I woke. I was on the set of a show like David Letterman. I forget the exact show it was, but there was a big storm or emergency or something going on, and so there was virtually no audience, just me and maybe 6 other people. One of the guests was Lucy Wainwright Roche, and when her segment was over she sat in the audience with me and we talked while the Rolling Stones performed. We thought it was interesting to get what was essentially a private concert by the Rolling Stones. We had a very nice conversation but I've forgotten what about.

I thought that the Rolling Stone concert played before less than 10 people was an accident, but I got into a conversation with someone who pointed a story out to me about how one of the members of the Stones was obsessed about not losing a single member of their audience and would force the band to play at even the tinies venues before the most miniscule crowds, just so they could reach every single fan of theirs. Ozzy Ozbourne was in the article too, talking about the same thing and how you couldn't take for granted that you'd always be able to make a living wearing spandex on stage. He was obsessed with keeping every single fan of his satisfied as well.

All of this was taking place during a wedding which was being held downstairs. I don't remember who was being married, but after the show I went down to help clean up. There was a lot of pies and picnic / potluck sort of food, and relatives that I don't think bore any resemblance to my actual real life relatives. I grabbed a hot dog and ate it and then worried briefly how many hot dogs I'd eaten and wasn't I violating my diet in a pretty horrific way. Then someone wanted to get together a card game. One of the people was S, one of my coworkers from work, and one was my nephew I think, but I don't remember who the others were. Only two people knew the game well and they wanted to be partners but we insisted that this wouldn't be fair. The game was called clubs and it was sort of like hearts, or maybe it was sort of like spades, but in this version "the cheese was wild", and they pointed out that one of the cards had a picture of an old ugly woman in black who looked a bit like Whistler's mother, eating cheese soup. I thought, is this a normally popular game, and what if your particular set of cards doesn't depict anyone eating cheese soup?
