Today's Song: Typhon by Therion

Therion is another of those bands who see the world through Freddy Mercury glasses. Or perhaps, as an iTunes reviewer says, "Therion mastermind Christofer Johnsson has never recovered from hearing the choir come in at the end of Ozzy Ozbourne's DIary of a Madman. Whatever the case, Therion's 2004 cd Lemuria is one of the best-realized welding of opera to metal that I've heard. I picked this up a few months ago just as I was reaching my saturation point for operatic metal, and I only listened to it a few times through, but I've had the song Typhoon on iTunes since before getting the full cd and I still like that particular song quite a bit.

BTW, you can download some free songs from their website, including their cover of ABBA's Summer Night City, which is quite unusual to hear.
