Today's Song: You Know My Name by Chris Cornell
Friday I did an old Stone Temple Pilots song, and that led me to Saturday's song by Velvet Revolver, which led me to Audioslave on Sunday, and so naturally I move on to Chris Cornell's solo cd that he released on the heels of breaking up with Audioslave. As one reviewer I read pointed out, "homeboy is a workaholic". Cornell isn't content to sit still, and no sooner had Audioslave released their third cd in five years than he left the band, put out his new solo cd, and immediately went on tour. And like his first solo cd (pre-Audioslave), he covers a lot of ground and tries many different styles and genres, and he has the voice to do it all.
But my favorite songs are usually the rockers so this one is a nice hard rock song. Not exactly a Soundgarden song or an Audioslave song, but still rocks out okay.

He's also done an amazing accoustic singer/songwriter version of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. No, seriously, take a listen. It's the greatest accoustic cover I've heard since Johnny Cash doing Hurt, and Cornell has a voice that could be considered as great and distinctive as that of the Man in Black himself.
Yeah, I need to pick this cd up.
