It's been over a year since I picked up Mabool by Isreal's progressive folk death metal band Orphaned Land, and it's still my favorite cd that I've heard in the last 2+ years. So I thought I'd feature something from it.
Orphaned Land mix Middle Eastern/Isreali folk music with death metal vocals, strong clean vocals, choirs, progressive metal, and a well-written concept album based on a mystical interpretation of the flood in which the three Monotheistic religeons (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) are represented by three brothers who all carry the same message to the world of God's wrath.
