Well, I did threaten to do more than one entry for Varttina. Aijo comes from Ilmatar, which I think of one of their newer cds even though they've done 2 studio cds and 1 live cd since then (and it's been 10 years or so since it came out). It's a spooky story about a weird old man that scares everyone in the village. He's crazy and always drunk and does strange, possibly mystical things. In the song a snake bites him, and he curses the snake. The curse is a very long and elaborate one and even though it's in Finnish, it sounds very creepy. I always liked this song, it's different from anything else they've done really. It's fun.
