Today's Song: These Walls by Dream Theater
I've been listening to songs from Octavarium recently, so I thought I'd pick one for my song of the day. This is the first one I found videos for on Youtube, so presumably it's one of the more popular ones. Of course, with Dream Theater I could probably pick anything and it would be good.
Dream Theater is a progressive metal band. You could almost say that Dream Theater is the pogressive metal band -- they've been better, for longer, than any other band you could probably name. They've made the genre their own and made themselves synonomous with progressive metal.
They're pretty darn good. ^_^
My nephew asked me if I knew who they were last July. I said that I'd seen them in concert. ^_^ That was on their first big tour for Images & Words, with Galactic Cowboys opening. They were good back then too.
This is one of those lame "videos" on Youtube which has no video. It's just an excuse to put up a really good song for people to listen to. Although I can link the version with video from Dragon Ball Z too -- not and improvement, in my opinion.
Dream Theater - These Walls
Dream Theater - These Walls (DBZ version)
Dream Theater - These Walls (live)
Dream Theater - Root of All Evil (video set to 9/11 footage -- interesting, except that, as many fans point out in the comments, the song is about alcoholism not terrorism or 9/11 -- and Dream Theater does have a song about 9/11)
Dream Theater - Pull Me Under
