Today's Song: Starlight Reverie by Edenbridge

I discovered Edenbridge by looking for bands that were like Nightwish, Within Temptation, and Epica. Edenbridge is like these bands, and yet not really like them at all. This is not a goth band -- everything they do is bright and positive and uplifting. They are usually labelled Symphonic Metal or Neo-Classical Metal, but I've also seen the term Angelic attached to their style. It's not much of a stretch -- no other metal band is this relentlessly happy and upbeat, and that includes bands that promote themselves as Chriistian or religeous. Although Edenbridge has much in common with Nightwish and Within Temptation, they are as far from dark, gothic metal as it's possible to be. (This is even apparent in their name, "Eden Bridge", and in album titles like "Sunrise in Eden", "Shine" and "The Grand Design".) Epica is probably the closest comparison since they also aren't really a goth band.

Edenbridge is very, very good. I have two of their cds so far, and I like them quite a lot. (Hmm... maybe I need to order another one since I don't have them all yet).
