Today's Song: EmOcean by Lunatica

I'm surprised that I haven't featured Swiss band Lunatica as my song of the day before now. Then again, with all of the greeat European Sympohinc/Goth metal bands that I listen to, maybe it's understandable. While I like Lunatica, they really are a just a notch below so many of the other bands in this genre (Nightwish, Within Temptation, Leaves' Eyes, Edenbridge, Epica, After Forever, Vision of Atlantis, Elis, Xandria, etc.) that they're easily overlooked. Not that there's anything wrong with them... they have a light symphonic pop metal sound and are fronted by a singer with a nice voice but not distinctive or with great range... and they write nice pop songs, but nothing deep or surprisingly original. They're very likeable but will probably never blow you away.

I tend to like 2004's Fables and Dreams more than 2006's The Edge of Infinity, but since the latest cd is the only one on iTunes, that's where this track comes from.
