NaNoWriMo word count: 21,146.
I'm close to halfway there, and still ahead of my schedule, but I don't feel like I'm doing well. That's because I was over 16,000 words last Thursday. I wrote little on Friday, but I had the whole weekend to get really far ahead. I even had Monday off. Well, I got very little written on Saturday and Sunday, and I struggled all day Monday to rewrite and add to some of the scenes I'd rushed through or sketched in, and connect bits of dialogue into full scenes, and add in a very few new short scenes as breaks between the main action scenes. As I said, I'm ahead of schedule, but I really planned to have 25,000 words done by Sunday so I don't feel like I'm where I wanted to be.
Incidentally, all 11 chapters of Girl's School that I have published in the last 1 1/2 years at Fanfiction.net constitute only 44,000 words. I'm adding a "side story" that is going to be longer than everything that has gone before. :/
I spent part of the weekend downloading music and ordering a few things. I re-ripped some stuff that didn't rip properly back when my computer was wonky. I also signed up for a Last-FM account. This is another online journal sort of thing -- I now have a Livejournal account, and one or two of the other ones that I've already forgotten about, a Youtube account, a DeviantArt account, and my Fanfiction.net account. What Last.FM does is it tracks the music I listen to and provides instant info on whichever band is playing on my computer at the moment. It also keeps track of everything I've listened to, and allows me to make connections with others who listen to the same music, or reccomends bands I might like, or just provides nifty charts on my listening tastes. It also provides a streaming radio customized to my music tastes. It's my newest toy, I've been playing with it all weekend.
