On the subject of Norwegian folk metal... well, Midnattsol often gets called folk metal, it's what they advertise themselves as, but I don't really hear much folk influence in their music, and they sing almost exclusively in English. But they are quite good. Lead singer Carmen Espanaes is the younger sister of Liv Kritine (Espanaes), front woman for Leaves' Eyes, a band I like very much (last band I saw live in fact, a year ago now almost exactly). Unpayable Silence is not my favorite song from their cd... in fact it's not my second favorite, or my third, or my fourth. But it's in the top five, and there's a video of it on Youtube. ^_^
