Today's Song: Mad Dogs and Englishmen by Noel Coward
Okay, this probably seems completely out of left field, but I've been stuck on heavy metal so much lately that out of left field is a good thing.
I listened to an episode of This American Life tonight on my iPod while I was execising and making dinner (Swedish meatballs, homemade tomato basil sauce, whole wheat pasta). This was episode #110: Maps and it ends with a bit from a song called "I Love America" by Noel Coward. I looked it up on their web site, and then as I usually do I started searching on Noel Coward and reading and going from link to link (isn't the internet a wonderful waste of time?) and I not only determined that Noel Coward songs are available on iTunes, but I came across this Youtube video of him performing his signature tune at a very fast pace.
So, what the heck. I present to you: Noel Coward - Mad Dogs and Englishmen
Noel Coward - Mad Dogs and Englishmen (you gotta love the irony inherent in this Youtube video of someone playing this song on an old Victrola. ^_^
