Today's Song: (Thinking and Wondering) What I'm Gonna Do by King's X

Sometimes you forget how good an album is until you go back and listen to it. I've been listening to Ear Candy by King's X this morning. I remember it being an album that was "almost" good, as if it didn't quite hit the mark. What I probably meant by that when I told that story to myself years ago, was that it was "almost" brilliant. It IS a very, very good album, it just doesn't have any songs that make it over the top into "all-time awesome hit song" territory. And that is what they were tryingto do -- this was their last major-label disc, and they were trying harder than ever to finally break it big. It just wasn't in the cards.

Still, it's an amazingly good cd, one that I don't listen to as often as I should. I searched Youtube and found one single song from this cd -- (Thinking and Wondering) What I'm Gonna Do - King's X. This song exemplifies the whole cd, really. It's got a great sound, groove-laden bass/rhythm with psychadelic guitars swirling on top -- a nice song, but without a hook (which is obvious from the title -- if that were a story title, you'd never bother to read it).
