Or something like that. Been watching more Maze lately, and the lyrics to the opening theme song are truly special. I was also reading some of my Fushugi Yugi manga. Both series are fantasies with the usual cast of weird but loveable characters off on a series of adventures with an overall goal in mind... my NaNoWriMo novel will be something like that, if I ever get the main character out of the first scene. ^_^
I got more calls from Chase Bank this weekend than from anyone I knew. Of course, my friends might have attempted to call me yesterday but I was online most of the day. I wasn't playing EQ though, I was downloading Bob Rivers tunes from a friend's sekrit server.
I really need a high-speed internet connection. I've just been lasy about getting one set up.
I didn't go to Kristin, David and Ieva's Halloween party, as most of my friends will know since they did go. Typically I didn't know when it was, even though I got the flyer, I just thought it would be on a weekday when I couldn't go and anyway I didn't do anything about getting a costume together. I hope everyone had fun. Aside from downloading music, writing on my novel, and watching Maze, I also hit my comic shop and Half Price Books, which turned out to be a very good thing. I've been missing my Jesus Christ Superstar remake cd (the one that the Indigo Girls did with friends of theirs). I think I probably lent it to somebody and it never came back, but I haven't been able to find it for a long time now. So it was on my list of things to reacquire, and what do you know? I found it at Half Price for $2.98. ^_^
I dug up my copy of Word and installed it on one of my machines, but really, it's an ancient copy, it was made before Win 95 so it can't see desktops (except under the Windows directory) and it can't handle long multi-word file names... it pretty much sucks to use. But it does spell checking, formatting, word count, and other things that Wordpad doesn't do... most of the time Wordpad is good enough for me, you know.
So my other plan at Half Price was to find a newer copy of Word. Wouldn't you know it, there weren't any copies available, except for an upgrade copy that might or might not have worked for me. But on the flip side, there were two copies of Wordperfect 7.0 and one copy of Wordperfect 8.0 for $20 each. I don't remember which versions of Wordperfect Gene might warn me against, so I just went ahead and got the newer version, 8.0. Hey, it's a word processor, and I'm sure Gene will tell me that it's better than any copy of Word I might find.
Dinner was courtesy of Tequila Taqueria, or something like that. Pretty good stuff. All that, and I got to watch World's Most Blurry Police Crashes. My favorite show!
And the Huskies lost. And the Seahawks lost. And I downloaded more music, and even logged EQ for a short time, although I didn't do much more than talk to some crazy necromancer. It's been another fun weekend! ^_^
And now I'm watching the Sonics, and looking forward to maybe 60 minutes or the Simpsons Halloween special, or maybe I'll actually play some EQ this weekend, or just finish the long first scene for Otherworld Blues. And maybe go get something to eat.
Although y'know, I really should do some cleaning up around here.
