Today's Song: Winter Wonderland by the Cocteau Twins
This is one of the songs I downloaded from eMusic/iTunes for Christmas this year. The Cocteau Twins, if you don't remember, were one of those 4AD label bands from England that played a bright, shimmering style of alternative pop music in which the vocals were indistinct and hard to understand. It was almost as if you didn't need to hear the lyrics, or they weren't important -- the melody was most of what you got from the singing. They were a bit like early Lush and other bands from around the same time period, influenced by Joy Division and Siouxsie & the Banshees among other bands. I always liked the Cocteau Twins well enough but I never actually bought any of their cds.
Maybe I should. ^_^
