Today's Song: Soturi by Rauta

I don't think I listed this band as one of the cds I picked up in the last couple of months that I needed to listen to more -- but it is one of those cds. Rauta is Finish folk-metal band that I bought largely because I'm such a big fan of folk-metal and because the cd was less than $13.00 new. I've listened to the cd several times now, but it's been hard for me to really get into. It's a nice mix of folk melody and folk instrument with hard rock/heavy metal, but the melodies are not simple or easily accessible. I don't think that means the band is bad -- in fact it might mean they're playing a more complex brand of music -- but it does mean that I haven't really latched onto any of their songs yet.
