Norwescon and Whale Watch
Jan. 17th, 2008 12:34 pmI keep forgetting to mention this. I haven't talked to
dolphinchatter or anyone else about Norwescon rooms yet, but my friend Adam from Alaska was planning to come down again to hang out and wanted to know about rooms as well -- I promised I would ask, so I'm asking. ^_^
Sometimes when I think of all the fun things we used to do as a group, I wonder why we don't do any of them anymore. For several years we would get together in the Spring for a whale watching trip. We went up to Hurricane ridge in the Summer more than once -- 3-4 times I think. Some of us drove up to Vancouver B.C. on several occasions (which I guess you'll soon need a passport to do that). There was that one trip to the Oregon Caves, that was really fun and it would be nice to go back again sometime.
Anyway -- I think one of the problems is that people need to plan ahead for these things, and if nobody does that, then nothing happens. The whale watch season (according to the web site) is from March to May. Prices are about $20.00 per adult and $15.00 per kid. One of the problems we've had with doing these trips is that they happen around the same time as Norwescon, but if we planned it for a few weeks before or a few weeks after, is there any interest in doing a trip this year on a Saturday or maybe Sunday?
