miko2Today's Song: The Dark Ride by Helloween
Helloween is known as one of the pioneers of power metal, forming in the early 1980's and releasing some of their classic albums before the arrival of grunge in the 1990's. Like many metal bands they struggled in the 1990's and even broke up at one point, but eventually emerged to produce some very good recent albums that compare well to their early work. The Dark Ride comes from their 2000 release by the same name. It's one of two or three songs I downloaded a few weeks ago just as a sampler of Helloween's work, and of those songs, I like this one best.
What we have here is yet another AMV based on the animated Final Fantasy movie -- but it's at least well done, and to a good song. ^_^ This is also a shortened version of the song -- the actual album track is nearly nine minutes long.
