Today's Song: Walpurgisnacht by Schandmaul

Yet another of those German Medieval Rock/Folk Metal bands (there seems to be an endless supply of them), Schandmaul, like In Extremo, Subway to Sally, Saltatio Mortis and Letzte Instanz is a band that mixed Medieval German instruments such as the bagpipes and shawms and Medieval German music with modern hard rock and metal. I've been listening to them a bit and I like this song in particular, although the version available on iTunes is from a live cd. This particular song appears to have a hurdy gurdy used in it as well -- you can never go wrong with hard rock and hurdy gurdys. ^_^

Their name means 'malicious tongue' and is related to their mascot, a grinning jester.
