You may recall that I went to Half Price Books two weeks ago and found the double cd Lemuria/Serius B which I did not pick up because I already owned Lemuria as a single cd, and figured I could get Serius B as a single cd cheaper than buying the double cd. This turned out to not be true, but that's okay... owning the double cd that includes Lemuria and also owning Lemuria seperately would've annoyed me for no good reason. I went onto Ebay and picked up Serius B for about the same price as the double cd at Half Price Books, and it finally arrived yesterday.
In the meantime I downloaded the song Gothic Kabbalah from the more recent Therion cd of the same name and have been listening to it on my iPod. I like it quite a bit -- it's less operatic than the songs on Lemuria/Serius B, and a bit more folk-sounding. It's also very mystical -- Therion writes on mystical subjects a lot -- and so for some reason it's now paired up in my head with the werewolf song Wolf Like Me by TV on the Radio and the story of the witch/shaman woman who is out to rescue her son in Amorphis's Shaman. And I keep trying to figure out how to work all of that into a story somehow, maybe involving Vashti, since the Amorphis song is based on Finnish mythology and several of my Vashti stories take place on Hautakivi which is a planet settled by Finns.
Anyway, all of that is beside the point. This is a cool song, and it's stuck in my head. This is one of those "videos" that doesn't have any moving images, but it does list the lyrics.
