Today's Song: Equally Destructive by After Forever
By all accounts Dutch band After Forever is in every way the equal of any of my favorite goth/symphonic/operatic metal bands. They rank up there with Nightwish, with Within Temptation, with Epica. And yet, I've never really fallen in love with them -- or even liked them that much. Part of this is that the cd of their that I own is a concept album about the breakup of a family, and frankly all of the dramatic yelling between the mom and the dad did not make for very interesting music to listen to (it occurs not only between songs and at the begining and end of songs, but also in the middle of some songs).
Anyway, I just downloaded this track from their new cd. It's an amazing song and an amazing video, so maybe I'm finally ready to fall in love with this band. Hard to believe that this is just a fan video, it's well done.
For some odd reason this cd isn't on iTunes (no After Forever cds are) but you can find it on eMusic. Score one for eMusic!
