miko2Today's Song: Locomotive Breath by Styx
I stumbled across this song on iTunes completely by accident. I have a very nice cover of Jethro Tull's Locomotive Breath performed by Tempest, one of my favorite Celtic rock bands, and I think I was looking at their music on iTunes when I happened across this cover by Styx, which frankly blows the Tempest version out of the water. In fact I like it better than the Jethro Tull version. It really sounds nothing like the Styx of old, but it does sound very, very good. They did a cd just a couple of years ago that consists of nothing but covers of songs from bands they like or were influence by -- and if this track is any indication, it sounds like a very cool cd indeed.
