miko2Today's Song: Svaltvinter by Vintersorg
Vintersorg, meaning Winter Sorrow, is a Swedish folk/viking/black metal band run almost entirely by Andreas Hedlund. Knowing their reputation as a long-running band in the folk/viking metal genre, I had downloaded a couple of their tracks before but found nothing that grabbed me. Then I came across one of those "my favorite folk/viking metal" videos on Youtube that contained a clip from Svaltvinter, and I was hooked -- on this one song, at least. It's quite beautiful as far as folk/viking/death metal goes.
