Today's Song: Poets by the Tragically Hip

This song was also listed on iTunes as a "power pop gem". I would never think of the Tragically Hip as purveyors of power pop, but I can kind of understand why this song from their cd Phantom Power was included on the list. At least, it's a bit closer to power pop than many of their other songs.

Also, a lot of the bands on his list were Canadian -- which probaly means he's Canadian and happens to be a Tragically Hip fan. Anyway, I hadn't listened to this song in a while so I put it on my iPod. ^_^

Phantom Power really is one of the Hip's better albums. It conatins Vapour Trail, one of my favorite rockers of theirs, and the song Thompson Girl which frankly might be a better candidate for "power pop" gem than Poets.
