My dream for some sort of cool bento lunch for Thursday and Friday, anyway.

As soon as I got home I tried out the pickled beans and radishes. Both tasted pretty good, so that seems to have worked, and they should only get better if I let them sit. Next I chopped up some onion, celery, carrots and bell pepper and made more batches of picked stuff. This time I got more experimental and added in some tumeric and curry powder, and I used red wine vinegar instead of rice vinegar since I had lots of it lying around. Anyway, that should turn out interesting.

While I did that I grilled chicken on the George Foreman, then I cooked some pasta. I combined that with chopped celery and onion and olive mayonaise and some mustard and pepper for a quick little pasta salad. I put that in two containers (using the plastic box containers [livejournal.com profile] kehf and [livejournal.com profile] dehd got me for Christmas last year, or a year and a half ago maybe) and I placed sliced cucumber in with that, and closed those containers.

Then I sliced the chicken and cooked it a bit with bell pepper and onion and olive oil, lime juice, and tabasco and oregano and cilantro for a sort of quick fajita-style main course. I divided that into two more containers, and also put in some sliced cheese and turkey salami, and small individually-wrapped chocokate squares (I have some Hershey's pomegranite dark chocolate squares and some Ghirardeli mint dark chocolate squares, I put one of each in eah container). This was after the fajita mix was cool of course, and I used my plasitic cup/dividers to keep the cheese and salami separate from the fajita mix.

So... proabably too much food already, but I also had some cilantro/jalapeno tortilla wraps and some sliced turkey and shredded lettuce, so with a little more sliced cheese and some Tapatio I made two small wrap sandwiches and wrapped them in wax paper and put them in the third containers. Tomorrow morning I'll add some of the pickled veggies around those, and some green olives and pickled ginger.

Yum!

No desert though... my blackberry cobbler is all gone until I make more. No cute animals formed from food or anything either.
