Got off work at Noon yesterday to visit the dentist. Afterwards it was 2PM and I was up in Bellevue, so I drove across to the U District and visited Half Price Books, where I picked up five cds -- two of them for $1 each. Those two were Feeling Strangely Fine by Semisonic and Way Back Home by Phil Keaggy. The others I picked up were Carbon Glacier by Laura Veirs, Putting the Days to Bed by The Long Winters (both of which I featured as songs of the day this week so those were great finds) and Songs About Leaving by Carissa's Weird, which I recalled was a band someone on the web had been wildly enthusiastic about, but which was since broken up and their cds are harder to find these days. Well, the part I didn't remember is that this band was the precursor to Band of Horses, which is a very popular band currently. Anyway, interesting stuff.

I drove up to my comic shop and picked up some things, then went to Gene & Mikes. They weren't home yet so I walked up to Ballard Market where I bought a sandwich and soup and some Greek salad/tabouli from the salad bar. I ate in my car, listened to music, read my comics. When Mike got home I waited a few minutes then knocked on the door.

Mike has fixed my laptop -- maybe. The fan is working for now. ^_^ When Gene got home we went to dinner to a place called Kona Kitchen, run by a guy who was one of the Karate Kid's major foes (second movie). Nice place, though I really didn't need to eat anything else, but I ordered a BLT anyway and ate it (and the fries, which I really shouldn't have done).
