Dec. 15th, 2008 11:02 amFriday evening (and for the second Friday in a row) I drove up to Fry's to do some Christmas shopping. Along with other things they had an 8 gig Emprex thumb drive for $12.99 that was just too good of a deal for me to pass up. Afterwards I drove across the street to Target to pick up a few things, including a copy of Melissa Etheridge's Christmas cd for myself and some chocolate to add to a few of my Christmas gifts. I found the new gourmet M&Ms -- boxes for $3.99 that contained things like Mocha M&Ms, Raspberry almond, mint, and triple chocolate. That was too tempting to pass up, so along with buying a few for my present ideas I bought one of the strawberry almond ones for myself.
Saturday I had a Christmas party at a coworker's house in the evening. She only lives about eight miles South of me, past the Muckleshoot casino and out into the countryside. It started snowing as I got there, and snowed the whole time I was there. It was a good party -- I brought some of the gourmet M&Ms and people thought they were cool. Some of them tried to "unwrap" them, since the outer coating is so pretty it almost looks like tinfoil. I drove home in the snow, listening to Melissa Etheridge sing about falling snow at Christmastime. I'd have to say that's one of the few times I've ever listened to Christmas songs about Christmas snow while actually being out in the Christmas snow. That was cool.
Sunday
The night crew has been known lately to leave the heat turned way up. We've come in some mornings and found the temperature up above 90 degrees. Well, we didn't have that problem this morning -- the heating had been turned completely off. When J and C arrived at 5:30 AM the temperature inside our office was 49 degrees. By the time I got here at 6:30 AM, it had warmed up to a balmy 54 degrees. ^_^
Perhaps not coincidentally, we've had two monitors fail this morning. That's on top of at least 2 others that failed within the last two weeks. Sceptre does not make very good LCD monitors.
I didn't exercise over the weekend or write anything. I did at least post chapter 17 of Girl's School to fanfiction.net.
