Today's Song: Fully Alive by Flyleaf
Flyleaf is an alternative rock/metal band from Texas. I've actually had this tune on my iPod for half a year at least, but just recently it's become lodged in my head and so I finally picked up their cd. It's a very catchy tune. They're a popular band. They're also Christians, so even though they're obviously an alternative metal band, in my mind they kind of fit in with all of those Christian metalcore bands like P.O.D., As I Lay Dying, Underoath, August Burns Red, Still Remains, Becoming the Arechetype, Haste the Day, Zao, Demon Hunter, Avenged Sevenfold, etc... there are tons of them. And I tend to include non-Christian metalcore bands like Shadows Fall and I suppose Bullet for my Valentine and Killswitch Engage in with those groups as representative of, I guess I'd call it "positive metal/metalcore". (Shadows Fall are more or less Buddhists I've read, BFMV and Killswitch Engage are emo metalcore).
The big difference with Flyleaf, aside from their more mainstream metal, is that they have a female vocalist (although she does scream a bit on the song I'm So Sick).
