Today's Song: Halfway Home by TV On the Radio

Wolf Like Me by TV On the Radio was not only one of my favorite songs of last year, it's remained a favorite song of mine for all of 2008. According to iTunes I've played it 150 times (at least). That makes it the #2 most played song, right after Shaman by Amorphis.

But I didn't find many other songs on their cd Return to Cookie Mountain that grabbed me anything like that one song did. When their new cd came out this year, I listened to a few tracks, downloaded one that sounded promising... and it was ok. I think it's still on my iPod, but it was no Wolf Like Me.

But their cd Dear Science has appeared on a lot of "Best of 2008" lists, and NPR picked this particular song to represent the cd. I liked it. I downloaded it. I'm falling in love with it.

I knew a band that could make a song like Wolf Like Me could produce more songs that I'd like. Their style is all over the map so there's no guarantee I'll like everything, but this one's a keeper.
