Jan. 4th, 2009 06:58 pmSnowpocalypse 2008 keeps trying to make sequels. Right now it's been snowing for two hours and is covering the roads... maybe it will melt by morning, as predicted. We'll see.
I drove to Fred Meyers and looked at their iPods. The 16gig nano was $199.99 It's $182.99 at Fry's, which is not a huge enough difference to make me drive up there, but Fred Meyers had a lousy selection of nano protective cases. As it turns out, so did Fry's -- their selection has been decimated over the last month or so. But anyway, I drove through the snow and bought myself a 16 gig purple nano, plus a case that I'm not sure I like, plus an Apple USB power adaptor that I believe will let me charge up my nano via a wall socket. This is important because the 4th gen nanos do not have firewire, so they can only recharge via USB. That makes most third party docking stations and recharging networks less useful than before, and makes a lot of people angry. But I never had a docking station that would recharge my old nano anyway.
I'm not sure if I know how to de-authorize my old nano from my iTunes account just yet. I think it needs to be plugged in.
