Found what I was looking for
Mar. 7th, 2002 11:52 pmNot that I needed to buy any more cds, but today was payday anyway, so I went looking for that bluegrass collection that I wanted.
I found exactly what I was looking for, something similar to the Time Life collection that is "not sold in stores". Actually, what I found at Silver Platters Southcenter WAS the Time Life bluegrass collection, "as seen on TV!". Hrm. Maybe it should have said, "As seen on TV! Where they SAY it's not available in stores! But they LIE, LIE, LIE! HAHAHAHAHA!"
Well, whatever, I knew that was what I really wanted so I bought it. ^_^
Also picked up a cheap collection of old-time music, 24 songs for $9.00, put out by the Rural Rhythm label by drawing on their own catalog of old-time music. Most of it is from the 60's. Just in case you didn't make the connection to "O Brother Where Art Thou?", they lead off with "Man of Constant Sorrow", designed the cd to look very similar to the famous soundtrack, and slapped on sticker pointing out that it was a cd of music "Like the music from O Brother Where Art Thou!" But it's a very good cd, and cheap. ^_^
And I picked up a second bluegrass tribute collection, this time "Pickin' on Aerosmith", just to see how far the concept can stretch. Quite far, as it turned out. This is another very good instrumental cd. ^_^
Snow is all over the place, apparently, so it's midnight and time for me to drive home from Auburn to North Seattle. Should be lots of fun. ^_^
*Update* Okay, drive home wasn't bad at all. Some slush on the road for about 2 miles just South of Seattle, but otherwise roads were clear. City looked very pretty, snow everywhere but the streets.
Our big snowstorm in Auburn was a furious flurry that lasted all of 5 minutes. I didn't even see any snow on the drive home until I got near Boeing & Seattle.
