I took yesterday off as a recovery day from the con, and I'm glad I did. Not that I made good use of my time, mind you....
Here's one thing I did for much of yesterday:
inaratalamasca had said at the con that he'd seen a Second Life character with the last name of "Mint". My character in Second Life is Mint Rainbow, so I immediately wanted to make a character named Rainbow Mint. The way SL works, you don't get to choose your last name, you pick from a list, and they rotate new names in and retire old ones so you have a limited window to pick a given last name. We didn't even know if Mint was currently available, and it was hard to tell because they don't give you the full list when you go to create a new account anymore. I reloaded the page about ten times hoping the name Mint would appear, but gave up.
So yesterday at home I decided to try again. After I could of tries I did some research and determined that, per fan-run web site, Mint was a currently available name. I reloaded the page again and bingo, it came up!
So... that's what I did. I created a mirror-image clone of Mint Rainbow named Rainbow Mint. I made them look nearly identical.
After that I visited a friend who is living on what is supposed to be the Starship Voyager. Nara came on and we goofed around in control room blowing up enemy ships (and friendly ships... and DS9) and doing silly roleplay stuff.
