I heard this on NPR as well. This comes from Neil Young's new cd which is all about his car,the Linc-Volt, which is a 1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV that has been converted into a hybrid electric vehicle. Nearly all of the songs on his new cd touch on the vehicle in some way. So, in a sense, I've got a theme going here... Gasoline by Sheryl Crow was featured on the same NPR show, and I cleverly inserted "I Am the Highway" by Audioslave in between these two songs. The Audioslave song isn't about conserving energy, or even about being on the highway per se, but it has a very "road song" feel to it so I think it works anyway. ^_^
