Norwescon is over

I wrote a short con report Friday morning that I'll have to upload later (along with the rest of the con if I can piece things together after the fact). Didn't get a lot of writing done the rest of the weekend except for one scene on my fanfiction story. Most of the time I was too busy doing other things.
Aside from a couple of tee shirts, all my money went to room and food and some gifts for friends. I used to find tons of stuff at cons that I absolutely had to have, but these days I'm more selective... I already own tons of cds, books, and dvds, and the ones that I want I mostly already have or can get at better prices outside the con. So it was kind of fun to do a little shopping for friends instead.
A few of the things that I really wanted but resisted buying at the con are the Miyazaki movies that just came out on dvd -- Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Castle In The Sky. I was very tempted, but decided to wait and pick them up after the con. So I stopped at Fred Meyers on the way home, but the one on 85th only had Kiki's and what I really wanted to buy was the other two. So I drove up to the Fred Meyers at 190th or thereabouts. They had Castle in the Sky and Kiki's, but not Spirited Away. I went with the two they had... at $19.95 each instead of $29.95 each at the con. :D
Will have to pick up Spirited Away later.
So... Tom isn't home, and apparently hasn't been since yesterday (there was mail waiting for me). I watched Castle in the Sky to wind down, and man is it cool to see it in English after all these years. As usual the Disney dub is not bad at all... voice talents include Mark Hamill as the bad guy and Mandy Patinkin as one of the pirates. Heh.
So now I have these two on dvd, plus Princess Mononoke and My Neighbor Totoro (which I got a week or two ago) and will have Spirited Away soon... now if they'll just release Nausicaa and Porco Roso before the next millenium....
