Today's Song: To Miss Someone by Maria McKee
Two other cds I picked up for very cheap recently (they were both 1 cent cd bids on Ebay, I think I spent a couple of bucks on each) are "Maria McKee" (her first solo release) and "Life Is Sweet", the third McKee solo release.
They're very different. McKee was lead singer for country-punk band Lone Justice in the mid 80's. After they released two cds they broke up and she started her solo career. She's got an amazing voice, so she was successful right off the bat. She was one of the early alt-country stars.
Her third cd sheds most of that early country sound for a harder rock sound. Consequently, it's one of those cds that some people claim is the worst she's every done, and others call her best ever. If you don't expect it to sound like her earlier stuff, then it's a very good cd indieed.
This is a song from her first release though.
