Today's Song: White Diamonds by Alela Diane

Alela Diane is part of a trio of folk singers originally from Nevada City, California, who I discovered at about the same time. The other two are Mairee Sioux and Joanna Newsom

Alela Diane has more recenlty lived in Portland, OR. (I want to say Joanna Newsom lives in Oregon too, but I can't find anything to confirm that at the moment.) What's interesting about that is that there are a number of very good folk musicians in Portland as well -- Laura Veirs to name one of my favorites. Neko Case has lived in the Northwest as well, and Blind Pilot is from Portland.

I liked Alela's previous stuff, but this song is better. It's been stuck in my head all week.
