They did a spot on annoying music on NPR recently for the holiday weekend. One of the songs they played was a cover of the Midnight Oil song Beds Are Burning. By a Finnish polka band -- Eläkeläiset.
I had to find a copy. And so, I came across this April Winchell web site, filled with truly weird and terrifying mp3s.
Here we not only have Beds Are Burning in Finnish, but Jive Talking in Chinese, Sweet Transvetite from Transylvania in Icelandic, and Don't Cry For Me Argentina in German. Oh yes, and Dancing Queen in Hindi. We have songs sung by Joe Peschi, Sylverster Stallone, Hulk Hogan, and Jerry Springer. We have the Star Trek Theme with lyrics sung by Nichelle Nicols. We have the Brady Bunch song "Time To Change" about a boy's vocal changes (I still remember that song! Eek!)
In short, it's an amazing little web page for people that enjoy listening to music that probably doesn't deserve to be listened to. ^_^
