Jan. 23rd, 2008 12:36 pmWell I guess my iPod battery isn't dying. I don't know what the deal was with it yesterday, I charged it all night and in less than 8 hours of play (intermittent play during the work day) it ran down all the way to just about empty. But today I've been running it most of the day and it's not even halfway down, so whatever was going on yesterday was some sort of glitch that seems to have gone away.
Listened to Joe Frank Show yesterday. It was short but funny. I now am subscribed to this show through iTunes so I should be listening to it regularly.
I am also subscribed to: Living On Earth, This American Life, and Radiolab. Actually I subscribe to several other things that I don't actually sync into my iPod, who knows how many episodes of NPR Music or NPR Top Stories I've built up in the last 6 months of subscribing to and not listening to them?
Anyway, the ones that I actually sync (see above) were starting to crowd out the music on my iPod back in November, but I've slowly caught up to my backlog of stuff to listen to. I have 1 unlistened-to episode of Radiolab, 2 of Living On Earth, and 1 episode of This American Life that I just listened to this morning.
I only have 3 music playlists (about 350-400 songs) on the iPod, and some chapters of Making Money that I haven't finished listening to. At this point I have about 1 gig free that I'm not currently using for anything. (My playlists, in case you were wondering [I have no idea why you would be wondering, but...] are "World of Steel" (my metal list), "BleakGloomy" (mostly goth metal)and "new jack city" (my catch-all list of alternative mixed with folk, bluegrass, and some metal, and anything else I want to listen to).
Maybe I need to try and sync and listen to all of that NPR Music stuff now. :D
I need to go back to Half Price Books. They had a dual-cd of Therion's Lemuria/Sirius B cds for $10.00 that I almost bought yesterday, but I decided against it because I already own Lemuria and I figured I could probably get Sirius B separately for less money. Well, I was wrong. I almost can't get it separately at all -- they're usually sold together -- and I can't get it for that kind of price, or even the set for that price when you figure in shipping and handling. So I passed on the best deal I came across... but if I drive back up there tonight, I bet it'll be gone. And maybe that's not worth the time and gas anyway to try and save maybe $2.00 or $3.00.
Eh. I don't need to spend money anyway. I got a Dream Theater cd yesterday, and Elton John's Greatest Hits Vol 1 and Vol 2 (but as it turns out I already had Vol 1), and I got Ursei Yatsura -- Beautiful Dreamer on dvd, which I don't think I already own on dvd, but even though a quick search didn't turn another copy up, I'm not yet completely convinced.
