Jun. 23rd, 2009 10:59 amI'm not feeling very charitable towards my computers today.
Last night I ripped my new cds to disc, but didn't import them into iTunes or sync them with my iPod. It was late and I just wanted to get to bed.
This morning, it being a Tuesday (when new cds are released), I checked Amazon and Lala for any special deals. Lala has the brand new release from The Mars Volta for $3.99. Great deal! I listened to one track, but then I had to jump in the shower. Once I got out I listened to another track and decided that I wanted to buy it. I had 10 minutes before I had to leave, plenty of time to download and sync with my iPod, right? I could even toss on the other cds I'd bought.
The Lala music mover program crashed. This has happened before, and a reboot fixed the problem. I decided to shut down and reboot my computer. While that was happening I flipped over to my other computer and imported my new cds to an iTunes folder, all ready to sync.
When I flipped back the the first computer, it was hung up. It couldn't shut down because a program wasn't responding. I closed that program, but it still did nothing. I had to reboot manually.
Once up the Lala tracks downloaded fine, as I knew they would. I copied them to my other computer, imported them, and told my iPod to sync. While it was doing that I flipped back to my first computer to work on something... but when I flipped back, the iPod hadn't synced. In fact it told me that it couldn not read or write to my iPod.
!@#$!@$@!#%
So I rebooted that computer, but by then I had to leave for work. My iPod's fine, of course, but it doesn't have my new cds on it today.
